The SSC conducts evaluations, assessments and impact analyses on behalf of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation.
Statements
The SSC is a consultative body of the Federal Council and can issue statements on proposals and issues at its own initiative or on behalf of the Confederation.
Publications
As an independent advisory body of the Federal Council, the SSC publishes reports and studies on current science policy issues.

President and Council
